SAMPS Casino - Need Volunteers
SAMPS CASINO: Tuesday, July 22 and Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
At the ACE Airport Casino, 40 Aero Crescent NE, Calgary.
As indicated in our previous newsletter, the casino will be held in July. We have recently received the official documents from AGLC (Alberta Gaming and Liquor Cannabis agency) and the ACE Airport Casino. Therefore, we can now proceed with proper planning of the event.
The casino is one of the most important SAMPS' fundraisers which happens approximately every 18 months. The funds allow us to provide education sessions, patient support and awareness activities, as well as support local myeloma-specific research; therefore, accelerating access to the best care, while empowering and improving the lives of those affected by Myeloma in all Southern Alberta.
Together we can make a difference!
And so I encourage you to sign up for one day or both. While you can sign up for both days, it must be for the same position; for example: Banker on the Tuesday and Banker on the Wednesday. This rule is set by AGLC.
Below you will find the Volunteer Roles and Descriptions.
You can easily choose your role, day and shift by clicking on the link provided for our new portal: SignUp Genius https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0A44ABA622AAFDC25-55708956-samps#/
Once you have registered on the Signup Genius, you will receive an automatic email confirming your shift(s). A reminder will also be sent to you prior to the event. And of course, we will be monitoring the registrations ourselves, sending you reminders when needed.

Our SAMPS casino can only be successful if we can provide the volunteers to cover ALL the positions required for both days. The Ace Airport Casino is the newest in the city and was opened in 2022. We are told it is the new state-of-the art casino so volunteering there should be a lot of fun!
